Information on payment methods

At Nippon Rent-A-Car, we request the following when paying the rental fee at the time of pick-up. Thank you for your understanding.

Premium class, full-size wagon class, premium wagon class, flatbed truck (2t long) class or above, aluminum truck (2t long) class or above, trucks with power gates, specially equipped vehicles, microbuses
Please pay by credit card.
Classes other than the above
We generally request that you pay by credit card (including debit cards).

If you wish to pay by prepaid card or cash (including rental car points, etc.), we will be required to verify one of the following: 1. or 2.
1. The validity of your credit card.
2. Presentation of supporting documents designated by our company (documents that can verify your identity)

[Supporting documents issued in Japan] Any of the following:
Nippon Rent-A-Car membership card (only valid cards with current address verification, such as cards with "member name" and "company name" printed on them) / Public utility bills (electricity, gas, water, landline phone, NHK) receipts* / Social insurance premium receipts* / National and local tax receipts* / Tax payment certificates* / Copy of resident registration certificate (without individual number)* / Seal registration certificate* / Residence card / Special permanent resident certificate / Employee ID/student ID (with photo) / My Number Card (#) / Qualification confirmation document

  • #If using My number card as driving license, you will need supporting documents other than your My Number Card.
  • # The "My Number Health Insurance Card" that can be viewed through the My Number Portal will not be treated as supporting documentation.
  • *Documents marked with * among supporting documents must be issued within 2 months.
  • *Debit cards or prepaid cards with VISA/Master/JCB marks can be used.
  • *Cash payments may not be accepted depending on the region, time of day, vehicle type, etc.
About Online Credit Card Payment
  • When making reservations from NIPPON Rent-A-Car official website or NIPPON Rent-A-Car app, you can use Online Credit Card Payment allows you to pay for the rental fee using the credit card you registered at the time of reservation.
  • The only cards that can be registered for Online Credit Card Payment are the credit card of the person making the reservation.
