What are winter tires

  • ●Winter tires are made from a special rubber that does not harden even at temperatures below 0°C, and are designed to transmit driving and braking forces to the road surface better than normal (summer) tires.
  • ●Driving on snowy or icy roads with normal tires is extremely dangerous, so please make sure to check the weather conditions carefully when driving in Japan.
  • *If you reserve a vehicle with normal tires, please note that we may not be able to lend you winter tires depending on the weather conditions for areas where it snows.

スタッドレスタイヤ標準装備地域・期間

●下記地域・期間はスタッドレスタイヤ全車標準装備（無料）のため、スタッドレスタイヤのお申し込みは不要です。標準装備期間以外でスタッドレスタイヤを指定する場合はオプション料金が発生いたします。

●スタッドレスタイヤ標準装備地域・期間のご利用は、冬期シーズン料金が加算されます。

※大雪特別警報や大雪に対する緊急発表が行われるような降雪時には、高速道路や国道の一部区間でタイヤチェーンの装着を義務付けられています。この場合、スタッドレスタイヤでもタイヤチェーンの装着が必要となります。詳しくは、こちらをご覧ください。

※タイヤチェーンオプションは、全国でお取り扱いがございません。チェーンが必要な場合は、お客さまご自身でご用意をお願いいたします。

スタッドレスタイヤのお申込み（予約）について

  • ●上記、標準装備地域以外の都道府県や、標準装備期間以外の期間にご利用される場合は、スタッドレスタイヤを別途お申し込みください（有料、オプション料金はこちら）
  • ●スタッドレスタイヤ装備のある車両は数に限りがあり、ご予約を承ることができない場合もございますのでご了承ください。
  • ●地域により、スタッドレスタイヤの装備期間、装備クラスは異なります。
  • ●降雪地域(北海道／東北／甲信越／日光・鬼怒川地区／北陸／中国山陰／阿蘇・九重など）へのお出かけ・乗り捨て利用の場合は、スタッドレスタイヤのお申し込みをお願いいたします。
  • *For customer safety, if you are traveling to a snowy region without winter tires, we may refuse to rent a car in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Act Enforcement Regulations or Road Traffic Regulations of each prefecture.

Snowfall Areas

  • Snow falls every year in the area shown in the image below.
  • With the exception of Okinawa and the Amami Islands, snow may fall in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and other areas.

スタッドレスタイヤオプションのご予約方法

公式サイト・アプリから、レンタカーの予約と同時に、即時でスタッドレスタイヤのお申込みが可能です。
Webサイトでの予約方法は以下をご覧ください。
公式サイト・アプリでは、毎年10月から翌年5月までにご出発予定のご予約分のみスタッドレスタイヤオプションをご選択いただけます。

（1）車種・クラス選択画面内の「スタッドレスタイヤ（冬季のみ）・4WDを指定する」または「検索条件の設定・変更　」を選択

※スタッドレスタイヤ標準装備の条件の場合は、「スタッドレスタイヤ標準装備」と表示されます（標準装備の場合はお申し込み不要です）。
標準装備地域・期間についてはこちら　

（2）ポップアップ画面で「スタッドレスタイヤ」にチェックを入れる。
（3）「この条件で検索する」を選択。

(4) winter tires will be added to the "Current search conditions" list.

A list of classes of winter tires available for reservation for the selected vehicle type will be displayed.

*If a class is not displayed, there are no vehicles equipped with winter tires available or no winter tires are available.
