When driving to areas with icy or snowy roads, be sure to have winter tires on your vehicle. Even if you are picking up an item in an area that does not snow, you will need to use winter tires when driving to an area that snows.

Snowy areas where winter tires are standard equipment during the specified period]
Hokkaido, Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Yamagata, Miyagi, Fukushima, Nagano, Niigata, Yamanashi, Fukui, Toyama, Ishikawa, Shimane, Tottori

Winter tires are an option when picking up in areas that don't get snow. This must be added when you book your car or make a request to us in advance.

*The snow symbol to the right of the car image displayed at the time of reservation only indicates the possibility of winter tire options. Winter tires are not included unless "Winter Tires" is displayed in the options before and after confirmation.

[Where winter tires are required at one-way drop-off]
From December 1st to March 31st, all vehicles must be equipped with winter tires when picked up in snow-free areas and returned at certain locations listed below. Otherwise, this service will not be accepted for security reasons.
The following places have restrictions:
Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Yamagata, Miyagi, Fukushima, Nagano, Niigata, Yamanashi, Tochigi (Kinugawa, Nikko), Fukui, Toyama, Ishikawa, Shimane, Tottori, Kyoto (Amanohashidate, Fukuchiyama), Shiga (Kusatsu, Maibara, Omihachiman) ,Biwa lake)

For your safety, we will not be able to rent car to you if you are driving into a snowy area without winter tires.
