Our four major services provide great peace of mind in the unlikely event of a problem.

1.Roadside Assistance
~5 Free Road Services~

  • Coverage of tires and wheel caps

    We will replace the tire with the spare tire installed on the vehicle on site. Additionally, tire replacement fees and tire fees in the event of a flat tire, and hubcap fees in the event of a lost hubcap will be waived.

    *Vehicles without a spare tire will be transported free of charge to the nearest repair shop. Do not use puncture repair kits.
    If used, you will be responsible for the actual cost.

    *Customers may be required to pay for tire replacement work and tire purchase costs. In that case, we will settle the payment in exchange for the receipt at location when return.

    *When purchasing new tires, please contact the pick-up location in advance.

    *If you purchase new tires while using a rental car, you will be required to purchase tires that are equivalent to the damaged tires (If the cost exceeds that, the customer will be responsible for the cost).

  • Jump start

    Connect the cables and start the engine on site.

    *Customers are responsible for the cost of charging the battery or replacing parts.

  • Refuel when running out of fuel

    We will refuel on site.

    *However, replenishment is limited to 10L, and free service is limited to once per rental. From the second time onward, the customer will be responsible for the cost.

  • Unlock a door at the time of lockout

    We will perform unlocking work on site. (excluding cases where the key cannot be checked, such as in the trunk.)

    *Only compatible with general cylinder keys if the key is in the car. Customers are responsible for the costs associated with transporting and unlocking vehicles that are difficult to unlock due to electronic locks or other specially constructed keys or anti-theft devices.

  • Lift vehicle when a wheel runs off outside from the road shoulder

    We rescue derailed or stuck vehicles.

    *Free support is limited to one time per rental.

    *If any of the following conditions apply, a fee will be charged from the first visit onwards.

    ・Pulling up and down vehicles with two or more wheels

    ・Use a winch or crane

  • 〈Notes regarding road service〉

    *Please note that use is limited to the rental period of the rental car, so if we cannot confirm the rental details, we may refuse to apply for the "5 Free Roadside Services".

    *A fee will be charged for towing or transporting the vehicle by tow truck to the nearest repair shop or customer-specified location.

    *Customers may be required to pay the usage fee. In that case, please be sure to receive and keep your receipt.

    *Please note that we are unable to provide roadside assistance to some remote islands.

2.Telephone guidance service in case of trouble

  • Gas station information

    We will guide you to the nearest gas station based on your current location.

  • Road guide

    If a customer gets lost, we will guide them in the direction of their destination.

  • Rental car support

    For those who continue their travels, Nippon Rent-A-Car 's long-time business network provides emergency loaner assistance. (We may not be able to accommodate some areas, time of day, or availability.)

  • Information on alternative transportation methods

    If the rental car is not self-propelled, we will provide you with public transportation options to reach your destination.
    *Customers will be responsible for all transportation costs.

  • Accommodation information

    If the rental car is not self-propelled and cannot be moved by public transportation such as at night, we will guide you to the nearest accommodation.
    *Expenses for transportation, accommodation, etc. will be borne by the customer.


3.Discount on Excess Hour Charge

If you will be late for the pick-up return time due to traffic jams, please contact location at least 1 hour before the scheduled return time and the overtime fee for up to 3 hours will be 50% off.

Even if you can't make it in time for return due to traffic jams...
With the "recommended course", overage fees for up to 3 hours are half price!

*This does not apply if the usage period is changed by more than 3 hours.

*Some travel products and coupons are not applicable.
*Only basic charges apply.

4.Halfway Cancellation Charges free service

If you return in the middle of the usage period, there will be no Halfway Cancellation Charges.

After renting, I had to cancel mid-term due to sudden plans...
However, with the "recommended course", there is no Halfway Cancellation Charges!

*If you wish to cancel your contract midway, please contact the pick-up location and obtain approval before return.

*Some travel products and coupons are not applicable.

*If the difference between the scheduled return time at the time pick-up and the actual return time is less than 24 hours, we will not refund the difference.

Insurance/Compensation Physical Injury/Death Unlimited per person (Including coverage of Automobile Liability Insurance up to 30 million yen)
Property Damage Unlimited per occurrence (Deductible: 50,000 yen)
Rented Car Up to market value per occurrence (Deductible: 50,000 yen in general, or 100,000 yen for passenger cars larger than Class S-D; trucks larger than Classes T-D and R-D; and microbuses)
Personal Injury Up to 50 million yen per person We will compensate the amount of damages for injuries (Including death and residual disability) caused by a car accident to a passenger, regardless of the driver's percentage of fault. (Maximum amount: 50 million yen: The amount of damages, including medical expenses, will be calculated according to the standards specified in the insurance terms and conditions.)

*If the customer (the lessee or the driver requested at the time of rental) causes damage to a third party or the Company due to an accident, the customer will be responsible for compensating for the damage. In order to cover the liability for damages, Nippon Rent-A-Car 's basic price includes compensation such as insurance up to the above amount. However, the deductible amount will be borne by the customer.
