■Due to the nature of debit cards, a deduction will occur each time the ``card authentication procedure'' is carried out.
Final payment is only due on the rental date (pick-up date or return date). *Payment is not finalized at the time of reservation.
* What is the "card authentication procedure"?
This is a card inquiry and confirmation process carried out on the system with the card company to confirm the validity of the card you are using and secure your credit limit.
This procedure will secure your credit limit (credit limit) for the reservation amount, but if you use a debit card, the amount will be deducted from your account each time. (You will be refunded by your card company at a later date.)
■ Timing of card authentication procedure (withdrawals will occur at the following times)
- 1. When making a reservation via the website or app
- ② When changing a reservation and the price changes
- 3) 7 days before pick-up (some debit cards are not eligible)
- ④ On the day of rental car use (pick-up date or return date) *Actual payment will only be made at ④.
- ⑤ If 150 days have passed between ② and ③, or ①.
- (⑥ When payment of reservation cancellation fee is made)
*If your account balance is insufficient at the time of card authentication procedure for "② Reservation change" or at the time of payment for "④ On the day of use", Online Credit Card Payment will not be available. Please note that the payment will automatically be switched to local payment. Any amount already deducted from the card authentication procedure will be refunded by your card company at a later date.
*Please note that when using a debit card, a temporary deduction of 1 yen may occur to verify the validity of your card when registering your card on your My Page or during the reservation process. (When making a new reservation, 1 yen plus the reservation amount will be temporarily deducted from your account.)
■Notes regarding withdrawals and refunds
- Caution (1)
- When the card authentication procedure is carried out, your credit limit will be secured, and it may appear that multiple withdrawals have been made from your card, but the amount withdrawn during the card authentication procedure will be refunded by your card company at a later date. Ultimately, only the amount for the day of rental car use (pick-up date or return date) or the time of reservation cancellation (if a reservation cancellation fee has been incurred) will be withdrawn.
- *The timing of refunds will vary depending on the card company, so please contact your card company for details (it may take up to several months).
- *Please note that in the case of debit cards issued overseas, the amount may differ depending on the exchange rate at the time of withdrawal and the time of refund, as well as overseas transaction fees, etc.
- Caution (2)
- With some card companies, due to the expiration date of the credit limit set by the card company, deposits and withdrawals may occur from your account regardless of the timing of our authentication procedure.
- Therefore, there are the following cases:
- ① After making a reservation, the reservation amount will be refunded before use.
→ Your rental car reservation will remain valid due to an automatic refund due to the expiration of your credit limit. - ② After using the rental car, the reservation amount will be deducted.
→ If both "A: Automatic refund from card company ①" and "B: Credit limit refund at time of payment" are deposited into your account, the "reservation amount" will be automatically debited after the expiration date of "B". - *Please contact your card company for details on withdrawals and refunds.
