1.Reservations （予約）

Reservation methods（ご予約方法）

Reservations can be made on our website through a PC or a mobile phone.
|

|
Reservations can be made by contacting Reservations Center (Toll Fee, 365 days a year).
|
| 3: At rental office |
|
Reservations can be made at a renting office on the phone or visiting directly.
|
|
|
(2) |
At the time of reservation（ご予約にあたって）

For security of driver(s) and passenger(s), people up to number of seat belts can be seated inside the rental vehicle. Please do not sit on seats which have no seat belts, which may be exist inside in some buses, cargo vans and etc.

Please inform your Nippon Rent-A-Car NO.1 CLUB Membership number, when you are a member.
|
| - |
It may be required to be accompanied with an experienced driver, who holds driving license more than 3 years, when any driver/additional deriver（s） hold（s） license less than 1 year.
|

At some rental offices, we may refuse to rent to some drivers who have been reissued his/her driving license at certain times. For further detail, please ask at the rental office in advance.
|

Due to legal restrictions, chauffeur drive service nor arrangement of a driver are not available.
|
|
|
(3) |
Optional equipments（オプションについて）
Snow tires, snow chains, ski carriers, covers, ropes, hand carries may be available. Please ask charges for such option(s) at the time of reservation.

Car navigation system (GPS)（カーナビ）
Optional charge for GPS, 525yen/per day, will be applied for cargo vans, trucks, and dry vans.

Child safety seats（チャイルドシート）
If you are accompanied with any child, who is under 6 years old but when no Child safety seats are avaialble, Nippon Rent-A-Car will refuse such a rental. Please make reservation for the seat as well or bring your seat with you.

Carry pets except assistance dogs（ペットの同乗：補助犬・介護犬を除く）
Advance reservation will be required when you carry your pets in a rented vehicle. Please make such a reservation directly to the renting office. Additional cost, 525 yen(tax included)/per rental, will be applied. At the time of reservation, our staff will inform you the limitations, terms and conditions. Only ones who accept those conditions will be allowed to carry pets in the rented vehicle. Nippon Rent-A-Car may refuse car rental when no such reservation has been made in advance.

Nippon Rent-A-Car may request for the reservation charges at the time of reservation when applicable.

(4) |
Charges of cancellation by customers or Nippon Rent-A-Car（予約取消手数料および違約金）
When you cancel your reservation, following Cancellation Charge will be applied. When you do not show up without notice more than one hour after the reserved time of car pick up, it will be regarded as "Cancellation of reservation". The same amount will be paid by Nippon Rent-A-Car when a reservation is cancelled by Nippon Rent-A-Car and rental agreement is not made. No such charges shall be applied, when reservations are made and cancelled on the same day.

Quick Start（クイックスタート）
The " Explanations for Insurance/Coverage policy and its exception.（Important Notice）" which shall be done at the time of car pick up at the rental office, can be done in advance if you select options at the time of reservation via internet. This will make pick up procedures quickly.

All drivers are required to present his/her driver's license. The license should be valid one in Japan to drive the rental vehicle. (Japanese driver's license, international driving permit under Convention of Road Traffic of 1949 or formal Japanese translation issued by an authorized organization if you have driver's license issued in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, or Taiwan as well as original driving license issued in these countries/area)

When there is/are any driver(s) who hold(s) driver's license less than 1 year, who is/are under the age of 21, who is/are regarded as inexperienced driver(s) or who is/are regarded as driver(s) who require(s) advice to drive safely, Nippon Rent-A-Car may conduct "Safety Start (check-up of customer's driving experience and advice to drive safely)"

Any drivers who are requied to show "Beginner’s Mark" or "Senior Driver’s Mark", are to drive vehicle attaching such mark.

You are requied to have Rental Agreement with you during your rental period.

You shall observe the duties with the care of a good custodian in operating and maintaing the rental vehicle, during the rental period including parking, daily inspection and so forth.

Obligations to pay parking fines（違法駐車をしたときの反則金納付義務）
If you receive a parking violation ticket during your rental period, you will be obligated to to visit the local police for the necessary procedures and to pay the fines immediately.

Method of payment（お支払い方法）
Please settle all rental charges via acceptable credit card.
If you wish to settle it other than such credit card, i.e. in cash(including electronic money, Visa Debit Card and etc.), we will check; 1) for car types Class S-C･S-D･O-B･O-C･X-C･W-B･W-C･T-D･R-E･R-F and vehicle equipped with freezer, power lift and etc.; for other car types, we will check 1) or 2):
Class O-B, O-C and X-C are available only specific limited area in Japan.

At the time of car return（返却するとき）
Please pay any excess hour charges and fuel charges, if any. If you receive a parking violation ticket druing the rental period, please present the notice of illegal parking and receipt, with duly stamped, of the payment.; If you fail it, Nippon Rent-A-Car will charge deposit of the fine, 25,000 yen for small/medium/standard vehicle or 30,000 yen for larger vehicle. The amount will be refunded when you show the notice of illegal parking and receipt, with duly stamped, of the payment.

Late Night/Early Morning Charge (applicable only at 24-hour operation rental offices)（深夜手数料）
Additional charge, ¥1,050 will be imposed when pick up procedures are made between 11:00 p.m. and 4:59 a.m.

3.Return （返却）

(1) |
Excess hour charges（超過料金）
If you intend to extend your rental, please contact the pick up office, prior to due in time, and get their consent of extension. When extension is available, an excess charge, which is described on the tariff, will be applied at the time of car return.

(2) |
Halfway Cancellation Charges (HCC)（中途解約手数料）
In case you cancel the rental agreement during the rental period after a checkout, you are required to notify the renting location and obtain the consent of such halfway cancellation. In such an event, the rental rates for the cancelled part of the period will be refunded with the specified halfway cancellation charges deducted. No refund, however, will be made in case of halfway cancellation of up to 12-hour rentals.

Fuel charge（燃料）
The rented vehicle are to be provided with a full tank of fuel. Please return with the tank refueled. Otherwise, the specified refueling charge will apply. It, however, is to be noted that such refueling charges may be higher than those paid at gas stations.

Late Night/Early Morning Charge (applicable only at 24-hour operation rental offices)（深夜手数料）
Additional charge, ¥1,050 will be imposed when car retun procedures are made between 11:00 p.m. to 4:59 a.m.
If midnight handling fee was charged at the time of car pick up, it will not be charged at the time of car return.

When you are to be late for due-in time, due to traffic jam or unexpected situation, the excess hour charge, up to 3 hours, will be discounted to a half upon notification to the renting office at least 1 hour prior to due-in time.

Insurance/Coverage（保険・補償制度について）
When you (the renter and/or additionally authorized drivers) cause injury and/or damage to a third party and/or Nippon Rent-A-Car, you shall be liable for indemnification. Nippon Rent-A-Car provides the coverage described above respective course. It, however, is to be noted that you shall bear the specified deductible amounts.

Collision Damage Waiver（免責補償制度について）

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): (* Not Insurance)（車両・対物事故免責額補償制度（CDW）※保険ではありません。）
Nippon Rent-A-Car will waive your responsibility for the damage involved, caused by collision or rollover, provided that you accept CDW at additionally nominal fees at the time of rental.If accidents occur twice or more, CDW shall cover only the first accident. (You are neither to cancel nor to accept CDW during the rental, once you accept or decline it at the time of rental.)

You are to notify Nippon Rent-A-Car of all the additional drivers, if any, at the time of rental.

Exemptions of coverage and Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)（保険・補償制度や車両・対物事故免責額補償制度の適用除外について）
You are expected to operate the rented vehicle in accordance with Rental Agreement. It is understood, however, that such coverage as listed and CDW shall not be provided when the rented vehicle is operated as below or when a traffic accident is caused during the rental period under the following situations. You are to indemnify for any amount, which shall be responsible for you, to Nippon Rent-A-Car immediately:

Failure to comply with such required procedures:（事故現場より警察および当社への連絡など所定の手続きが取られていない場合）
It is mandatory for you to report the accident to the police and Nippon Rent-A-Car, at the site of the accident, regardless of whether or not it is serious, whether or not a third party is involved in it, or who is at fault.

Violation of the terms and conditions of Rental Agreement:（貸渡約款に違反している場合）
"When you violate the Road Traffic Law", "When the rented vehicle is driven under the influence of alcohol or drugs", "When used during an unauthorized extended period of rental", "When driven by a person other than the driver and/or additionally authorized drivers", "When driven by a third party at your consent", "When driven by a person who does not hold a valid driving license", "reckless driving", "When driven against public order and standards of decency", "When an out-of-court settlement is made without the consent of Nippon Rent-A-Car", and so forth.

Under the waiver clause or the no coverage clause of the automobile liability insurance policy:（保険約款または補償制度の免責事由に該当する場合、または支払いを除外されている場合など）
"Injury or damage caused willfully", "Under the influence of alcohol or drugs", "Wreck costs or other incurred costs at the time of total loss of the rented vehicle", "Flat tires or damage to the tires", "Loss of hubcaps", and so forth. "Property/effects which are owned, used or kept by the renter/driver".

Negligence in proper use or care of the rented vehicle:（使用・管理上の落ち度があった場合）
"Theft of the rented vehicle while it is parked with the ignition key in place", "Injury or damage caused by nuisance parking", "Get vehicle interior soiled/smelled", "Loss of the vehicle accessories", "Damage caused by inappropriate use/care of the chains or carriers", "Damage caused by driving the rented vehicle on the seashore or the riverside", and so forth.

(6) |
NOC (Non-Operation Charge) - Equivalent to Loss-of-Use Charge（ノン・オペレーション・チャージについて）
NOC will apply as part of the compensation for loss of use which will arise out of non-usability of the rented vehicle during the repairing or cleaning period in the following cases and if Nippon Rent-A-Car is not responsible for those: "Traffic accident"; "Theft"; "Broken down"; "Stains", etc. This charges will be the same regardless of the degree of the damage and the time required for repair.

(7) |
Child safety seats（チャイルドシート）
In accordance with the Road Traffic Law, you are required to make use of a Child safety seats, when you are accompanied with a child/children. (Optional charge: ¥525/day or ¥1,050 for up to 10 days)

You shall install such a Child safety seats in an appropriate manner at your responsibility. Even if our staff assists you in installing it, you shall confirm that it is securely installed before you start to drive the rented vehicle.

It is understood that Nippon Rent-A-Car shall assume no responsibility of any accidental injury/death resulting from, or arising out of, an inappropriately installed Child safety seats.
|

It is also understood that you shall be responsible for the damage to, or the loss of the rented Child safety seats, when Nippon Rent-A-Car judges such damage or loss is a result of your inappropriate use or care.
|

|
| (8) |
One-Way Rentals（ワンウェイ・レンタル） |
|
|
|
|

One-way rentals are such car rental when you return the rental vehicle to another rental office where you pick up.
|

Advance reservation is required for one-way rentals. (such rental may not be available without advance reservation)
|

One-way rental is not available for buses, and trucks (bigger than 3 tons, and specially equipped vehicle).
|

Please note that due to location site, envilonments or else, vehicle may not be returned to specific rental offices.

Drop-off Charges（乗捨手数料について）
One-way drop-off fee may be charged in addition to rental charge. For the specific fee, please ask at the pick-up rental office or refer to website of Nippon Rent-A-Car.

No drop-off charges aplly to following One-Way Rentals:（乗捨手数料が無料となる場合）
For your benefit, no drop-off charges will apply to One-Way Rentals within Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and the same prefectures or the specified areas in Hokkaido, under certain restrictions. Please note that in specific area, certain drop-off charge may apply. Please ask at the time of reservation. (The specified 9 areas in Hokkaido are "Hakodate", "Sapporo/Chitose", "Niseko/Rusutsu", "Asahikawa", "Wakkanai", "Obihiro", "Kushiro","Memanbetsu" and "Naka-Shibetsu", respectively.)

Drop-off Charges apply even within the above mentioned areas, when you wish, after a check-out, to return the rented vehicle to another location other than originally designated one.

All the terms and conditions of the rentals other than the above, shall be subject to "The Terms and Conditions for Rental" which Nippon Rent-A-Car shall prescrible.

In the event of any conflict between the Japanese version and the English one, the former shall prevail.
